Raiders Vs. Broncos
After winning the coin toss, the Broncos elected to receive the ball. After a deep kick, the Broncos were held to a 5 yard return and started their first drive on their own 10 yard line. The Raiders stopped the Broncos and forced the punt on a 3 and out. The Raiders first drive was a fast and successful drive that resulted in a touchdown. The Raiders #3 Jacob Berry threw a 10 yard touchdown pass to #30 Tyler Stack, the extra point was successful with a run by #15 Daniel Guidry.
Special Teams kept the momentum going with the Raiders #3 Jacob Berry kicking an onside kick which was recovered by #21 Blake Allen of the Raiders. The Broncos defense put up a very strong stand and forced the Raiders to punt the ball. The next Broncos drive resulted in another punt and at the end of the first quarter the score was Raiders 7 Broncos 0.
On the first drive of the second quarter for the Raiders, #30 Tyler Stack scored a touchdown on a reverse but the extra point kick was no good. The Raiders lead grew to 13. On the following Broncos drive, the Raiders defense forced another punt. The Raiders drive was capped off with a 3 yard touchdown run by #15 Daniel Guidry. The extra point attempt was no good and the Raider’s lead grew to 19. The Broncos offensive drive resulted in a punt, but the Broncos punt team recovered the ball after on the Raiders 25 yard line. The Raiders defense stood strong though and kept the Broncos Offense out of the end zone. At halftime the score was Raiders 19 and the Broncos 0.
The third quarter is held to little activity except for a 20 yard touchdown run carried by the Raiders #80 Daniel Bierhauzena with #3 Jacob Berry successfully kicking the extra point. At the end of the third quarter the score is the Raiders 27 and the Broncos 0.
The fourth quarter was started off by a 3 yard touchdown run by #28 Justin Austin, but the extra point attempt was no good. Raiders #80 Daniel Bierhauzen scored his second touchdown with a 10 yard run and the extra point was good. The final score was 40 – 0 with the Raiders moving to 1-0.
Players of the Week
Blake always plays tough in practice and in the game. With a strong work ethic and nose for the ball, Blake recovered an onside kick and was a major contributor to tackles on Defense in Game 1. Blake may be quiet, but he’s a leader when it comes to giving his team 100%.
Robert has played for the Saints, Bills and Raiders. He’s is now a Junior Coach for the FFL Raiders and is playing QB, Full Back and Middle Linebacker as a Freshman at Newark Memorial High School.
